DRAWINGS FOR ART QUILTS

Here is the drawing I made for the "Butterfly" quilt for the Almaden St. Lobby of the San Jose Convention Center in 1992. I drew it on 8.5x11" paper. The squares I divided it into were 3'x3'. After the border was added, the quilt measured 14'x14'. The border on the drawing was different from the actual quilt, because the Art Selection Committee from the City of San Jose wanted something different, so I changed the imagery for the border.
This is the drawing I made for "Animal Spiral," the 14'x14' quilt I made for the Market Street Lobby of the San Jose Convention Center in 1989, finished in 1991. To assemble this piece, I divided the pattern into sections, beginning in the center and kept adding to the outside edge until the image was complete.

Bingo Time!

The Day that I went to the Seven Trees Community Center and Library, to photograph my quilts, the big hall where my quilts are hanging was the meeting place for Bingo.

This was me in 1993 in front of my 14'x14' "Butterfly" quilt for the San Jose Convention Center, commissioned by the City of San Jose.
